Jesus Calls Us…Come and See! Come and Grow! Come and Serve!

Youth Ministries

St. Andrew’s vision is to create an environment where youth experience the love of God, deepen their faith in Christ, and identify their spirit-given gifts and calling in order to empower them to share the good news of God’s reign in word and deed at church and in their daily lives.

We meet weekly and have calendared activities throughout the year.

  • Sunday School-High school & middle school youth are invited to learn more about God and his love from 10:00 to 10:45 am.
  • WOW! (Wired on Wednesday) - Midweek services for our middle and high school youth.
  • Children's Choir - Children in grades 1 - 6 are invited to become part of our Children’s Choir. They will receive instruction from our seasoned director, Theresa Swanson and will prepare songs for Sunday worship, Christmas and Easter pageants.
  • Mardi Gras Pancake Fest- An annual evening full of live music and food that supports our youth mission trip.
  • Car Wash -This twice-yearly fundraiser results in sparkling clean automobiles and wet and happy youth who work hard to help support their Mission Trip.
  • High School Retreat - Everyone needs a time to retreat and be still with God, including teenagers!
  • Confirmation Camp - Middle school youth leave for a week-long camp during July.
  • Confirmation Sunday and Celebration Dinner - We honor 8th grade confirmands during worship service followed by a reception and later celebrate with families with a sit-down dinner.
  • Lock-ins - An evening of fun and hijinks.
  • Walk and Knock - Middle School youth participate in this annual collection of food for families in Clark County.
  • Prayer Buds - A positive, faith-based mentorship program for our youth. Participants are paired with a St. Andrew adult who will pray for them daily, and the youth will reciprocate by praying for their adult partner.
  • Messy Church - An all-inclusive take of church that includes interactive activities, songs, prayers, and dinner! All ages are welcome and encouraged to attend. Messy Church happens on the first Sunday of the month from 4 - 6 pm.

Ashley Ryll, Director of Children, Youth, and Family

Ashley Ryll is from Centennial, CO, where she grew up attending an ELCA congregation. During that time, she was introduced to Rainbow Trail Lutheran Camp - an ELCA camp in the Rocky Mountain Synod - where she was a camper for 5 years. In 2016, Ashley joined the Rainbow Trail staff as a camp counselor, where she primarily worked with campers who attended the onsite program. Ashley was promoted as a Travel Director, where she led teams of counselors to run day camps at churches within the synod. In college, Ashley also worked as Children Activities Support at a non-profit called The Matthews House, an organization that works with at-risk families and youth. Ashley is very excited to be a part of the St. Andrew’s team and can’t wait to see how God works through this ministry!
