Jesus Calls Us…Come and See! Come and Grow! Come and Serve!
|
About UsHistorySt. Andrew began as a mission church in 1972. It first met in Orchards Elementary and Covington Middle School before buying an agricultural field just south of Fourth Plain and Gher Road, where we still reside. The congregation outgrew its first building within 5 years of its completion. As a result, a lot of sweat equity was done to maximize space and build a new wing for our existing preschool in 1987.
FacilityThe first building was destroyed by fire in 1994. As a result, St. Andrew worshiped in donated space for two years until our current facility was competed in 1996. Our building is a busy place since it is used by our congregation, a Korean congregation, a winter overnight shelter (WHO), and other community groups.
MissionAt the heart of St. Andrew are mission and service. St. Andrew Christian Preschool, holiday food baskets, Orchard Elementary School’s Kids Club, and Winter Hospitality Overflow are some ways we serve our community.
OrganizationSt. Andrew’s decision-making body is the voting membership at Congregational Meetings. The congregational council is elected by the congregation and includes four officers and the representatives of various ministry teams responsible for the month-to-month operation of the congregation.
