Music is a powerful force in worship, a language in which we talk to God and God talks to us, a means of healing, encouraging, exhorting, and sharing the Good News. I am delighted to serve the musical needs of St. Andrew and to facilitate the many musician servants to use their gifts for the good of the body. I have a Bachelor's degree in Arts and Sciences with a major in music from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Master's degree in Church Music (organ and choral directing) from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, N.J. Over the years I have served many denominations as both organist and choir director, arriving at St. Andrew in February of 2005, where I currently direct several choirs, play fiddle in the Winds and Strings ensemble, play organ and piano for services, and coordinate an active program that includes many volunteers. My husband, John, sings tenor and is retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. We have three children and sometimes many house pets. |
